This article appeared in the summer 2011 edition of Eugene Magazine. I spoke with a local biologist who has written books about the wildflowers in Oregon and she told me of a place called Mount June which I had been to, but had hiked it when it was not wildflower season. Once I went back and saw how beautiful it was, it has become one of my favorite places.
